Some months ago something strange happened to me, it was disquieting indeed.
Qualche mese fa mi è successo un fatto strano, anzi, più inquietante che strano…
In an unknown suburb, counting less then 500 inhabitants, old people tell a story about a psychopathic and pitiless butcher, who once during the night chopped a poor young boy to feed his beloved wolf spider.
In un borgo senza nome, con meno di 500 abitanti, gli anziani raccontano di un macellaio psicopatico e spietato che una notte fece a pezzi un povero ragazzino per darlo in pasto alla sua amata tarantola.
He was locked up in the town bell tower, chained to its hands. He died 2 days after on 7th November 1941. On his birthday.
Fu rinchiuso nel campanile del paese con un cittadino, incatenato alle lancette, legato alle quali morì dopo 2 giorni: il 7/11/1941, il giorno della sua nascita.
I didn’ care about this stupid superstition, indeed.
Io veramente non feci caso a queste sciocche superstizioni.

Ad un tratto vidi uscire dalla macelleria un’ombra seguita da un’inquietante rumore di catene arrugginite,
I didn’t worry about it because I thought it was due to my drunkness.
non ci feci caso pensando che era colpa della sbronza.
The day after I discovered hat the people in the café had been all slaughtered in the same horrible way: they were hung from the ceiling by butcher’s hooks.
La mattina dopo scoprii che tutte le persone del bar erano state trucidate allo stesso orribile modo, appese al soffitto con dei ganci da macellaio.
Almost a month later, half of the inhabitants had been killed in the same way and the other half, included me, had left the town.
Dopo circa un mese, metà paese era stato ucciso sempre allo stesso modo e l’altra metà, compreso me, era fuggito.
Nobody has ever known what happened, someone thought it had been a serial killer, other thought it was Drakula.
I would say it was ….
Nessuno capì mai cosa successe, alcune pensavano che era stato un serial-killer, altri addirittura Dracula, io penso che sia stato…
